DVD/CD-ROM
So I got a problem...
My computer can`t open any CD.
I looked in my options and I have a yellow warning next to
" hp CDDVDW TS-L633M ATA Device ". Then, I tried to do up-date and it said me it`s already up-to-date, it seems like I`ve the latest version of this pilot...
That`s very convenient because I`ve many things to do
I`ve Windows7 and my computer is a HP Pavilion dv7x ( dunno if it will help )
I hope someone can help me, please..!

Re: DVD/CD-ROM
Either your ATA controller is damaged (then you have no chance unless you use an USB DVD drive) or your drive is. More often it's the drive itself what causes the problem.

Re: DVD/CD-ROM
How old is it? Might still have warranty and then HP will fix it.
If not you can open it and plug the drive into a port from a different controller if your motherboard uses 2.

I think something with your CD/DVD system is wrong, you should contact an Informatiker who can fix it.

Re: DVD/CD-ROM
We need more clear information.
Can you read data from any disc in the drive?
A clear picture of the inside of your PC showing the back of the drive and a clear shot of the SATA connectors on the motherboard would be great to.

Re: DVD/CD-ROM
All I can say it`s that I can`t " autoexec " a CD.
I tried to un-instal re-instal my pilote and other, that`s still shit...
I want to play some games other than League Of Legends. And for Crysis ( I bought it ) and I need a crack no CD to play it with 64 or 32 bits -.-'

Re: DVD/CD-ROM
So you're saying that
Autoexec doesen't work but you can right click open a disc?
Probably a windows problem then.

Re: DVD/CD-ROM
No I can`t open CD.
It seems like no CD is into my laptop. *
Anyway, I don't think someone is able to solve this problem...
I`m gonna give the laptop where I bought it.
Thanks for help, you can lock this topic.

Re: DVD/CD-ROM
If it's out of warranty, you can just buy a new drive. It's about 30 to 40 Euros.

Yes well you better take it to a specialist as I don't think you'd be capable of replacing it yourself and it may void any warranty you have. I probably wouldnt even attempt it if there was warranty remaining
