I don't support rip-off DLC's. Won't get it. Release the damn editor so people can make custom maps which will be 1000x times better anyway.

Re: Crysis 2: Retaliation
I don't think so. Maps made by a developer are mostly WAY better then Community maps. But for Crysis 2 it wont be hard to develop own maps because the ediotr is awesome.
Re: Crysis 2: Retaliation
It's just disappointing to see that they publish a DLC before they fix all these bugs in the game itself, and even before the DX11 patch. Also 10$ for 4 maps which are all copied from the singleplayer is just too expensive in my opinion, I doubt that I am going to buy it as well.Crimson wrote:I don't support rip-off DLC's. Well sorry I don't want to offend any mappers for Repcom, but you guys can't compare to the mappers of other games. That may be partially true to the limitations of a buggy UnrealEd, but nonetheless never underestimate the power of the community. Developers should be learning this by now, as today the players affect the development of the games a lot more than before.Soldy' wrote:I don't think so. I agree with Crimson, look at CSS source ESL for example.
Most BS you read all day^
Re: Crysis 2: Retaliation
The maps in RepCom cannot be that good because of the editor itself and because RepCom has limited resources, like static meshes etc. I even create own static meshes for some of my maps, but that takes a lot of time and is barely worth the time you spent since the game is almost dead. But if you compare the (best) community maps to the original ones like Engine or A17, some of them are really better.Crimson wrote:Well sorry I don't want to offend any mappers for Repcom, but you guys can't compare to the mappers of other games. Re: Crysis 2: Retaliation
Well I followed the official Crysis forums for some days now and most people share my thoughts about the DLC.
According to several polls in the MyCrysis forums about 70% of the Crysis 2 community is not going to buy the mappack. This would have a huge influence on the game since the community is going to be split into two sides: Those who have the DLC, and those who have not. Most players could not join all servers anymore.
Main reasons why people won't buy it:
-It is a pre-release prepared DLC. Screenshots with the DLC appeared from January. Not sure where these screenshots come from, but I assume someone with the leaked Beta version found them in his game folder.
-10$ which are ~14€ are 35% of the price for the full game. Most costumers think that this is way too expensive.
-Only 4 maps that are fully copied by the singleplayers are not enough for a DLC and they expect more such as a coop mode and new weapons
-Many users are still angry because of the huge amount of hackers and bugs in the game and the missing DX11, they will see if Crytek will fix the game first before they even spent one more cent into the game
Recently a lot of topics were opened but Crytek is removing all of them. I messaged them and they told me: "Abusive threads are usually moved to a private section (...) We're not silencing negative posts about the DLC"
Not accepting how Crytek is dealing with the community and criticizing them in a proper way is obviously "abusive" and not wished. They told me that they are not deleting the topics but moving them to a private section, and well, that's actually the same thing. People cannot read it anymore. Somehow topics which are positive about the DLC (not many, but at least some) stay.
Seems like censorship to me.

Re: Crysis 2: Retaliation
Well it is Crytek cmon...
DX11, available 3011
Not being a console port = xD.
Having less customisation options than crysis 1
Press start to begin
Please adjust brightness of tv - trollface.jpg
Crysis 1 having DX10 but Crysis 2 not having it
Gamepad UI
"Console versions will not affect PC development" - no x64 bit executable, trollface.jpg
