I've recently thought about the idea of having distructible items on multiplayer maps, at first it didnt seem to work very well but now I found a proper way to create such objects.

I already worked on a new Stamper version with this feature, the map is only in beta state right now but it is possible to destroy almost the entire map, like the cover points or the catwalk, stairs etc.

Of course it is not that easy to destroy something, it requires quite some firepower. And the catwalk on Stamper is pretty big, hence there wont be "one" catwalk to destroy but about 50 single parts from the catwalk that each can be destroyed independent from another one. The catwalk has about 50+ pieces that each can be destroyed.

The catwalk is of course more difficult to destroy than a simple cover point or a random static mesh.

Here are some first screenshots and a video. Some of the screens are also included in the video, and the one where almost the entire map is destroyed was only made to show how much you can actually destroy, it would take a very long time to actually destroy all these objects.

Really that looks great Iron :up: More tactics will be needed now this is all what SWRC was missing in matches :)

As I said this would be a really great feature to have! :up:

Espacially if you could figure out a way to make multiple levels of destruction for catwalks and cover this would make the game a lot more tactical and fun.

This would be bad vs Storm.

His spam would destroy the entire map in 5 seconds.

This looks really good, Will you be looking to try this out on some retail maps also?

Great idea IRON am really liking this new feature for maps !!!! :up:
So maybe also you could have HIDDEN rooms on a map with weps in or even a secret passageway/'s or stone/concrete walls u can blast thru for shortcuts ?? AWESOME :cool:

Im not sure, its quite some work to do that. Maybe for A17 or Engine, but that'd be it. Definitely not all lof them.

Are there still some people in the community who have modelling skills?
Maybe somebody could edit the cover models so that they look more destroyed with every step.

Does somebody know if you can import 3ds Max Models into the Unreal Engine 2? If we dont find anybody who could do the models I could try doing them myself since I always wanted to learn 3ds Max and that would give me some motivation to do it. :)
