Re: Wanting to build a new PC
Alright, Ill be looking into buying an HD 7950 and an i5 3570k. Now, what about the motherboard? A lot of people have an ASrock and Gygabite, but what about my Intel one? Should I keep it? Also, what 500W cheap PSU could you reccomend?
Re: Wanting to build a new PC
You can't upgrade to this CPU without changing the board. The sockets are not compatible.
I can recommend the ASRock Fatal1ty Z77 Performance. It is not chat expensive and offers many features. Very good for it's price range.

Re: Wanting to build a new PC
If you consider overclocking i would recomend the MSI Z77A GD 55. It is in the same price range as the ASRock Fatal1ty Z77 Performance and you will have better overclocking results. Especially if you dont know much about overclocking the mainboard has a build in OC Genie 2 funktion. You set your pc up so everything runs fine then shut it donw press 1 button on the mainboard start it back up and you will have your cpu oc to about 4.2 Ghz.

What about the PSU? There's one for 23euros, but I'm kind of skeptical about it.Roooker wrote:If you consider overclocking i would recomend the MSI Z77A GD 55. Forget overclocking. The 3570K is fast enough. The MSI is way too overpriced regarding it's features.Roooker wrote:If you consider overclocking i would recomend the MSI Z77A GD 55. Get a branded one, Corsair, Antec, PC power and cooling, seasonic, xfx are all safe bets.

Re: Wanting to build a new PC
Well, after all suggestions you gave me, I have come to a conclusion of the parts to buy, so feel free to suggest something more.
CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-3470
GPU: Sapphire RADEON HD 7950 3GB
Mobo: MSI Socket 1155 Z77A-G43
PSU: Corsair VS550 550W PSU
RAM: *keeping the same for now*
HDD: *same*
So what do you think? After talking to Roooker he told me to get a 3470, so i thought of getting that, and with that getting the Z77A-G43 motherboard. Thanks.

Re: Wanting to build a new PC
Get another 4GB ram before the prices rise again, it might be a bit extra, but you don't wanna end up paying £40 for 4GB, and then £20 for 4GB like I did.

Just saying. But if he doesn not want to oc at all there is almost no difference in pure gaming performance to an lets say 3470 or 3550.

Re: Wanting to build a new PC
That's true. But OC'ing just using the multiplier can also be done on the Asrock board....

Re: Wanting to build a new PC
I'm not an overclocking kind of guy, so I guess i'll stick to the 3470 and the MSI board, because both are cheaper.
