Yeah, I`m not able to do it my-selfPenguin wrote:Oh it's a laptop... I thought it was PC.Graphiix wrote:No I can`t open CD.
It seems like no CD is into my laptop. *
Anyway, I don't think someone is able to solve this problem...
I`m gonna give the laptop where I bought it.
Thanks for help, you can lock this topic.
Yes well you better take it to a specialist as I don't think you'd be capable of replacing it yourself and it may void any warranty you have. I probably wouldnt even attempt it if there was warranty remaining

I'm only talking about a laptop here.Penguin wrote:Not on a laptop unless you have experience.Vash wrote:Put the old one out and the new one in.... that's easy like shit.
90% it's one screw. Then you pull it out and put the new one there. That's it.

Re: DVD/CD-ROM
Some laptops you need to remove other parts, some have inbuilt drives, some need the bezel changing, so unless your competent with PC hardware, it's not going to be easy.Vash wrote:I'm only talking about a laptop here.Penguin wrote:Not on a laptop unless you have experience.Vash wrote:Put the old one out and the new one in.... that's easy like shit.

I said 90%. You're talking about the rest.Penguin wrote:Some laptops you need to remove other parts, some have inbuilt drives, some need the bezel changing, so unless your competent with PC hardware, it's not going to be easy.
I see notebooks very often during my work and almost all of them are very easy to change.
@ Graphix
Make a photo from the downside of your notebook and I'll tell if it's easy or not.

He still has warranty and I don't see the point voiding it anyway.Vash wrote:I said 90%. Re: DVD/CD-ROM
Well. I was on a french website
www.toutlesdrivers.fr or something like that.
I tested my pilote and it says that my pilote wasn't nicely installed.
It can gives pilotes that are badly installed or new ones, but for my, it did not for the CD problem, for my graphic card and mother board it did.
Then, I deleted all the pilote, switched off my computer and switch it on again.
No reaction, still badly installed, and the waranty is dead.
Is their a way that someone knows even if it's a bit " illegal " I know that Vash doesn't want that here, but I really want my Launcher CD back, that's really convenient´

Re: DVD/CD-ROM
From what I understand, the drive is dead.
It is not illegal to replace it.
Open the laptop using the instructions in the hardware manual, check the product id on the drive, purchase one, replace the same way as you removed it.

Re: DVD/CD-ROM
Is it possible to buy an extern one? ( I hope you understand what I mean )
If yeah, is it possible that it doesn't work due to the problem of my broken one?
