I translate what i said in french on another forum.

I wanted Xavi, but it's deserved.
We can't say either Xavi or Iniesta is the best, they are both Spanish, both Barça's players, both midfielders. Messi said which one it is, and it's the best actually, not the one who won the WC.
It's a win for Masia and Barça btw..

In my opinion Messi isnt that good. He´s good with Barca but with any other team he doesnt really stand out. To me it seems like he needs a team which totally supports his way of playing football that he can be good and so he´s not such an extraordinary football player.

Actually, Maradona destroyed the whole Argentine team at WC, and Messi, he did not score anything, but he acts on 7/10 goals, with assists or others (shot from him and just after a shot from another at like 5 meters). He is involved in Barça team, but Xavi and Iniesta are too.
They are playing since 10-15 years in Barça, they don't know another football, and Spain team is like the way of playing of Barça, so Iniesta/Xavi can do good things, with their way of playing. Messi can't.

Well I think he could do it, but it's obvious that Real is simply searching for a Higuain replacement for this season. After that he'll only sit on the bench and move on one year later.
I just think it's funny how desperately Real is trying to get every half decent striker there is.

Mourinho just failed when he came, he recruited Khedira and others players a little bit "useless" but he had already Lassana Diarra, Gago and another i think, he should have get another striker, now president of Real doesn't want to get another player, it's somehow Mourinho's fault.
