U see this is kind of jargon crap i like to stay away from with an xbox i dont need to worry about any of this and simply stick in a disc and play

people get 2 caught up in the features and playability of a game before it comes out. The best times i had playing video games was whenever i was a kid and didnt care about all this bullshit and simply looked forward to the game me and friends were waiting to play.

At the end of the day this is what games come down to "having fun."
it isnt about graphics,dedicated server, fps or any of this nonsense the sucess of titles like mincraft have showen this.

the people who are called cod fanboys are simply people who have had fun with the cod series and trust me there is lots of fun to be had with cod.

so lets just let each other get excited about the games we want to have fun with and not turn this into a debate on which game is better or which platform is better it dosnt matter just enjoy your favorite game with your friends because this time next year there will be differnt games and the same debates will pop up again and again

Just because I have a different opinion makes it "jargon crap"? How does being ignorant of the facts make things better? Unless you think ignorance is bliss. Btw what you are doing is attacking the person who is making the argument rather than the argument itself (Ad hominem fallacy). Well I don't know about you, as I can only say about myself that I don't have all the money in the world. I actually care about how I spend my 50 euros. As a kid such things don't really matter as one does not understand the concept of worth and money like an adult does.

The thing is, "having fun" is quite subjective. Therefore what you think as "having fun" doesn't apply for everyone else.
Graphics never make the game but in fact are supposed to complement and enrich the gameplay experience.That means I do appreciate graphics (such as Crysis), but do not base my entire decision on it (considering I still play SWRC).
As mainly a consololol player maybe you don't quite understand the merit of a dedicated server. It allows you to be able to pick out exactly what map/gametype/ping you will have when you play. Therefore I can choose on the most part what sort of experience I will have and can make sure to "have fun".
FPS is first of all important for smooth gameplay and good response to what is going on ingame. In CoD (and other quake based games) however it also has other uses due to a bug in the engine. If you are able to determine the max FPS, you can lock the game at certain frame rates, allowing you to do things like jump further or higher. While I personally only use this to an extent (as I'm a noob at strafe jumping), it really makes a huge difference in competitive CoD.
Now your point in relating to the simplicity and success of Minecraft doesn't really make sense. You are comparing apples with oranges. I love Minecraft and think it can be lots of fun. But even in that sort of game you have dedicated servers. The graphics are fine in that game and can be enhanced a lot by using HD texture packs. There is also much better support from the developers considering its still in beta but that is probably due to the fact that Mojang is an indie developer (gotta love those <3).

I play CoD and have fun with it, though I wouldn't consider myself a fanboy. I don't just buy something because its a CoD title. I actually take the time to look at what the product actually looks like and its value to me as a consumer. That would be the same as buying something from a fashion brand just because its that fashion brand. Seems very silly to me and often a waste of money.

The reason many people including myself are saying these things is because Activision pulls the same shit every year and doesn't really care about the PC community (where it all started for CoD actually). But sure lets get excited about video games, since this is a gaming forum and what would we be doing here if we weren't.

Also it's so evident 90% of CoD players are fanboys since no-one is picking CoD to pieces for it's hideous features such as lack of ranked dedicated servers (100% now they won't get my money, I could load up a multiplayer game from 2004 and have dedicated servers, best thing is, those faggots at Actitroll don't even have to pay for them) but everyone is ripping the shit out of BF3.

Very true. Call of Duty is a great concept and is overall a good game but i find everythign is un even on this game unlike BF3 where they take into consideration of the equipment and the real world, for example playing MW2 last night people got hit by a 50cal. and lived and yet 1 brust from an M16 assult rifle kills, i just think that they have badly balanced this. Many other features of this game also annoy me, The fact that most secondry weps can be used as your primary. I know this is to take into account that people with lower skill levels can still enjoy the game however i think that with time anyone improves and therfore it shouldn't be like this as much.

I think its fair to say that the quality of the previous CoD games on Xbox, PS3 or PC have all been a slight let down as it seems the producers care very little about who originally helped them to become big (PC gaming) however with such a large community they have moved to console for more money, I think that they should be showing the respect to both sides. I mean Dedicated servers wouldn't hurt them to use them and to be honest probs improve their market for the PC.

I have been moaning about CoD yes as the previous games have let down the newest one due for release MW3, interms of quality and where they feel they should be largely based, upon i feel they are wrong to base their game souley on Console.

However BF3 isn't soo great either, I know this is made for PC but console have the same problems you do for CoD on PC. For example BF3 on console. I think clive can back me up it takes 30 mins to even get into a game on your own let alone with friends, due to the size of the maps and the playes only being 32 not 64 the maps are really empty and its difficult to find enemies oftern.

You see this will always be a problem. People always have a market in Console or PC. PC with higher graphics and capability than a console, however console has many more players. Its the question of quality vs money and what ever one they choose the game will take a hit on the other side, it is always going to happen. I want there to be a line that allows for both however Gamers want to use the full capability of their PC and always buy on PC, hating Console based games (such as penguin and aphex) and want more from the game and whant them to have a PC based market. Gamers such as clive and other Console users (splatter) want the best quality on thier consoles and want to enjoy the game using their platform. I think its stupid to argue against eachother i think it would be better to argue against the producers of the games.

im not mainly a console player ive 1 xbox game atm (bf3) ive tons of pc games(over 100 in fact) the first thing i did when i came to tx was order bfbc2 and swrc so i can have fun with all u guys. Did i look into the jargon for these games ..... no
because i know il have fun with them when im playing with others

so imo jargon counts for zilch its the fun u can have from playing the game and even if the game has no dedicated servers im sure it will be none the less a very fun game to play with.

And yes bf3 servers does take you half an hour to find a game with
and i can think of pleanty of game like gothic for example that console gamers cant enjoy because its based on pc more

True that, MW2 kinda sucked, but I'd also say that 90% of the BF3 players are fanboys since no-one cares that they have to install an entirely illegal trojan on their PC which is scanning their entire PC just to play one game. Actually most players of both sides are just fanboys.

I think that the delvolpers should make a base game, then port it to pc, ps3, xbox360, ect. This way the game would be the same, just on a different system. I have a Wii and I enjoy playing Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga just as much as playing RepCom on PC. I will buy MW3 for PC and not the Wii because 1. I'm better at PC games more. 2. I enjoy PC games (FPS) more. 3. I have World At War for PC and I hate the controls (which are vital for games). 4. The motion thingy is WAY overused. While I am bad at FPS games, I buy them because I like them. Not for graphics, not for controls, but because I like the gameplay. Because I like the story. Because I like the game its-self. I do not plan to buy a xbox360 AND a ps3, I MIGHT buy them at some point though. I like the PC games more because I simply like them MORE as GAMES, NOT as systems. I won't buy BF3 or MW3 till both are out on the market. I want to see lots of gameplay of both before I spend my money. P.S. FireTrap900, Crimson, |3arcode, you are running a very good arugument, if you want to call it that. @Crazy I agree that playing FPS/TPS on PC is better then on Wii.

Yeah don't worry I was just defending my opinion and I think its important for future members of this division to know what they are getting into when buying MW3 for PC. What they do in the end is up to them. :)

In any case good luck and hopefully things will turn out better than expected. I mean you made it work with MW2 so why not this time. ^^
