That's not true either. Win2000 was the first operation system with was based on NT-technology for private using. XP has been released 4 years later, so it was a normal time. Just because you weren't using PCs that much in that time, you can't release untruths
Many companies use it in the professional way and Microsoft still does support it. Just the home private user can't expect any support from MS.

I hope Windows 7 won't come with those Vista bugs. I don't think it's going to fail, since MS learned alot from what Vista made and they're looking forward to fix those problems. Even the Beta version works very well and I think I could switch from WinXP to Win7, if everything's cool.

DirectX is the only reason I'm using Windows though. I'm a Mac user on my laptop and I also got Fedora on my comp

You don't want ever use Windows again, after you worked with a Mac. Anyways, it's only "not that good" for gamers, because most of the games don't support Mac OS X. But I got both, StarCraft and WarCraft III on my Mac. Afaik, like all the Blizzard games support Mac out of the box.
