That's not true either. Win2000 was the first operation system with was based on NT-technology for private using. XP has been released 4 years later, so it was a normal time. Many companies use it in the professional way and Microsoft still does support it. Just the home private user can't expect any support from MS.
I hope Windows 7 won't come with those Vista bugs. I don't think it's going to fail, since MS learned alot from what Vista made and they're looking forward to fix those problems. Even the Beta version works very well and I think I could switch from WinXP to Win7, if everything's cool.
DirectX is the only reason I'm using Windows though. I'm a Mac user on my laptop and I also got Fedora on my comp
