He is a gigantic loss. Look at the team: The majority is made up by young players who never played in a big tournament. Ballack was the team captain and a big leading figure. He kept the team together in ahrd times and ensured everyone stayed motivated. PLus he always scored important goals and he's a very dangerous free kick taker.

Ye he plays at Bayern, but he sits on the bench all the time and every thrid or fourth game he's able to play for 10-20 minutes. He's not getting a lot of practice
