Not that obvious since Westermann wont be able to play as well as 2 midfield players. It could easily have been Trochowski/Marin/Özil or Gomez/Kießling who has to go home.

Italy's first goal was lucky and the second one was undeserved (Germany pretty much didnt play anymore^^).
If it came to a penalty shootout we had won for sure and probably would have become world champions. Germans simply don't loose on penalties

Why does it matter on which position they usually play if it comes to a penalty shootout? Hans-Jörg Butt is a goalkeeper but also a good penalty taker, he even scored for Bayern in the CL.

Dude, Germany is THE Penalty team. They never ever lost a penalty shootout and almost everybody can strike them. Podolski and Butt are the best ones though.

I think no German penalty taker missed in a world cup game for ~20 years. They said smth. like that a few days ago in a TV show.
