Studies/Homework: need help/advice? => POST HERE!

Post by DC-17 »

Hey everyone,

I thought it could be a nice idea to have a topic where people could post any kind of questions which are related to studies, such as school homework (or eventually uni or other specialized school), in order to purchase advice.

Of course you shouldn't expect to get all the answers you need all the time, but maybe from time to time some other browsers could help you out with a nice explanation, thus avoiding you to lose hours searching for the answer to your problem :)

Of course I don't know if such a topic is of any use or if its concept can actually work out, but why not giving it a try? In the worst case it will just go totally inactive within a week :P

And it doesn't have to be translations only, feel free to post maths problems for instance. It should be quite easy to "draw" an answer on paint or such programs.

So feel free to post your questions and do not be shy!

Currently exam period for me, so this will really help!
Would you guys rather have a heavy breakfast or a very light breakfast before an exam?

:D

I think it totally depends on you to be honest, on the way you feel. Some people can't eat much, others eat a lot before exams. I think both extremes aren't good. I would personally advice you idealy not to eat much but to have at least a little somezhing in your stomach to hold you. Remember an exam almost never exceeds 4 hours so you do not need to eat like a giant before. However I would strongly recommend you to take some sugar wirh you, that you can eat during the exam, as it will help you to be more concentrated. But as I said above, it's more about the way you feel that you should choose the quantity of food you want to eat before your exam :)

Ps: However I think it is important to eat much during the Revisions period bevause that gives you energy and helps you be more efficient.

Buy a pack of belvita breakfast biscuits. Have 2 when you wake up and 2 before you leave for school. Will help spread out the energy release. Also workout the night before.

What I find helps me concentrate best is having a bowl of cereals, a glass of fruit Juice and some bread.
Always give me brain power ;)
Also I might eat a kiwi or any fruit in my fruit basket if I have time.

Wow thanks for all the advice guys, yeah I used to worry that if I ate too much I'd get a stomach ache during the exams due to anxiety/nervousness but it never actually happened.
BTW I love belvita breakfast biscuits, yum! :cuinlove:
Thanks again guys.

My protip that seems to work for me: Cram the past exam papers in the last few nights before the exam, like a maximum of maybe 4 nights before, as I feel the point in doing this is to know EXACTLY what the mark scheme wants you to write, and hence you can save time by cutting unnecessary extra details and gain points by writing key words mark schemes love. Not sure if this applies to college/uni exams though, as I'd suspect they wouldn't be based on a specific exam board and hence don't provide the resources for past exams.
