Command and Conquer Generals : Zero hour

well i have been playing this game for a couple weeks on this computer , never installed any kind of update or anything, not for the game or anything else. and today in the middle of a battle, it closed and says " Please make sure you have DirectX 8.1 or higher installed. Also Verify that your video card meets the minimum requirements"

So i checked my DirectX card. its DirectX 9.0c

Checked my video card, and all requirements are met. what could be the problem?

Try to reinstall.
But: Does the game start anymore and was it a sigle problem?

i did reinstall it and nothing happened, i restarted my computer.... and it works -_- really stupid but i am thankful it works cause it was a b-day present from my dad, so i guess an administrator can lock this topic.
