Post by Žarbon »

Well i get 5-10 msg's that windows - explorer doesnt work and have to restart and do restart automatically. The message arrives typically when i click with the right mouse button for example on some folders. I watched in internet and i am not the only one who got the problem.

Know someone how to fix it?

Try the following.

Restart your computer and press immediately after the POST-screen appears the F8-button. Then choose "letzte als funktionierend bekannte Konfiguration".

Maybe that fixes your problem.

Why do you "destroy" your computer with something like "Vista" omg.
Or insert your Vista Disk and run CHKDSK

Well I don't see any serious difference. I used Vista Home Premium x64 and now Win7 Professional x64. Just the taskbar is completely different, like some other administration panels.

And btw. the admin control panel (Systemsteuerung) of Win7 is the worst one I've ever seen. WinXP had the best one.

An upgrade to Win7 makes only sense, if you have a SDD or some other flash drives using as hard disks, since Vista doesn't support some features.

In my eyes, Win7 could be a "Service Pack" for Vista.... a shame that Microsoft calls it a new operating system. It's just a "major skin update" to be honest...

My system is exactly as fast as before with Vista x64.

Both Vista and 7 are better (safer, faster) than XP.

Can't approve that, esspecially the "safer" part. Why should it be safer? The Windows Update support is still running and WinXP still gets security updates.

Faster? My system starts WinXP x64 faster than Win7 x64...

The only reason I made an upgrade is that I really wanted to re-install my system and of course because I got my Win7 really cheap...

Maybe in future, Win7 will be faster, but atm. I don't see a difference or atleast: a huge difference. Only some hot new games are running faster with Win7, but only because the developer use DirectX 10/11 and some other improvements regarding Vista or Win7. If they want, it could be the same for WinXP... anyways, it's money what they want.

In the past many people didn't like the very new WinXP, since it was slow, unsecure and not really stable. But after SP2 arrived, it was by far Microsoft's best operating system.

So let's wait. I'm sure Win7 will be very good after some time of updates.

Of course it is safer, as it is always with software, the most used OS/program has the most viruses (or other hacks), and people rather try to create trojans etc. for it -since they have a hudge advantage if their virus/trojan can infect more computers (and 55,6% use XP, only 10,6% have Win7, of course they spent more time in damaging XP). Well some of them may work on both Win7 and XP, but since not all of them do it is way safer.

And on my computer it works definetely much faster.

You know that 99% of the trojans/viruses you're talking about run without any problem on Win7? All OS's are as secure as an OS without anti-virus-programs and/or firewalls. And don't come with the "Windows Defender". That's a piece of shit.
The only thing (on Vista as well) makes it more secure is the UAC (User Account Management). That's a good job of Microsoft.

Yes, 1% is the reason all people should upgrade to Win7. And the time that Vista and Win7 dominate will come and your argument automatically gets invalid, since all "hackers" etc. will focus on Vista/Win7 then. ;-)

Then I believe, you didn't have WinXP x64 Edition.

So 1% less viruses and the UAC -already safer, I never said how much acutally. :)
And one time more people will use 7 than XP, but currently it has 45% more so it will take some time, and until than -in some years- it is safer, some years are a long time on this market.
And also more people use a 32 Bit system than 64 Bit, so it makes more sense to compare the first option.
