2154.
The RDA, a interplanetary terrestrial company, wants to exploit the unobtanium (a special mineral) of Pandora, a sort of moon.
Pandora is a primordial world, full of rainforests and trees which can be 300 meters high, populated by all kinds of creatures, including humanoids creatures called Na’vi, 3 meters high and with a blue skin.
The air of Pandora isn’t respirable by humans, so scientists developed avatars: genetic hybrids between human and Na'vi: througt a mental interface a man can link his nervs to the creature, and have a Na’vi body which he can control like his own body. This connection is only possible when the human falls into a sort of coma inside a special technological capsule.
Jake Sully, a disabled marine, is called there to have an avatar. The plans were that Jack would have told the position of the Na’vi’s family tree, their home. But Jack is excited to see that he can walk and run again with his avatar, and he starts to love his new world, in the end, Jack will have to decide between Na’vi, to save Pandora, and human, to destroy it, and also destroying his new life.

An affecting story and 3D special effects, which are really exciting, make us believe we were in Pandora.
Furthermore, there is nothing really important to criticise about. Personally, the overall effects, including the special 3D effects, the acting and the plot and the camera work is just excellent. I agree to a certain extent that the aggregated story seems to be a little confusing, it may also be the case that one can assume the film will be a complete waste of time and money but as far as our opinions convinces you, I don't hesitate saying that it was one of the best movies last year.
