I can't seem to access mod maps, etc.
Hey Everyone,
At first, I installed the promod, and couldn't get it to launch. I installed the War Pack 3.0 and the promod light, and it seems as though I can get them to launch, but still have no access to the mod server because it says I have no "TX_stamper" (or whatever map) on my local machine. Did anyone else have this problem? How can I fix this so I can play the new maps?
Respectfully,
Hammer

did you unpack everything in the right folder? I had a similar problem some time ago when I just installed the maps. Go and check wether the new maps are really in the Mapfolder.

Re: I can't seem to access mod maps, etc.
I think there are 2 mod servers currently, one WP3 server and another one with the TX mappack 2009. Check if you joined the correct server, and also look if you have installed the setup into the right directory (as Shanks said). And about the promod, it is so far only running on our private servers hence there are no public promod servers you can join yet, that might come if it gets more popular.

Re: I can't seem to access mod maps, etc.
Shanks, Ironhide... Thanks for the responses.
I checked the map folder, and there are some 30-32 maps located there... TX_Stamper is among them.
The program unpacked itself and created the PROMOD file, which I assume is the way it's supposed to run, thought the directions said something about copying the folder and naming it yourself.
On the TX server, there are several promod setup files, map files, and a PFW Skip? Is there a recommended sequence of installation? When would "LIGHT" be recommended? And what is the purpose of the "skip" file?
Should I uninstall and try it all again?
Thanks for your assistance... you guys are great!

Re: I can't seem to access mod maps, etc.
I think the Promod light also included the warpack maps? Maybe that bugged your already installed wp3? Try uninstalling it all then reinstalling the promodlight. It's also possible you experienced an error during the installation. Happened to me before aswell.

Re: I can't seem to access mod maps, etc.
you should copy the entire RepCom folder because otherwise you wont be able to start the "normal" RC. As Irony said you should uninstall everything and then install it again copy the folder name it "Star Wars Republic Commando PROMOD" and then install promod in this folder.Hammer7 wrote:The program unpacked itself and created the PROMOD file, which I assume is the way it's supposed to run, thought the directions said something about copying the folder and naming it yourself.

Re: I can't seem to access mod maps, etc.
It's not needed, the promod light makes its own folder.Shanks wrote:you should copy the entire RepCom folder because otherwise you wont be able to start the "normal" RC. Re: I can't seem to access mod maps, etc.
As Irony said, you do not need to copy or rename any folder. I think you actually installed a wrong WarPack, and not version 3. If it is named "TX_Stamper" as you said, it is definitely the wrong version, because all maps since WP 3 are called "TX_WP_MAPNAME", so it would be "TX_WP_Stamper". Try to install WarPack 3 again and tell us if it works then.

Re: I can't seem to access mod maps, etc.
First, let me say WOW, and thanks... I looked through all the folders for the promod, and I can tell a HUGE amount of work went in to putting that all together. That's incredibly cool... Major kudos to all of you who put in the time to create all that.
So, to get a clean run at this, I uninstalled everything. I'm re-installing RepCom and then I'll install the promod light. If I'm understanding you correctly, I will not have to install Warpack 3.0 because the maps are included in promod light, correct?
And did anyone mention what that "skip" file was about?
I really appreciate the help.

The maps are not included in the Promod Light, you need to install both.Hammer7 wrote:So, to get a clean run at this, I uninstalled everything. The "Skip"file is a setup for 2 other mods, but you do not need that to join our mod server.
