Spain lost against Switzerland on the WC and they won.
After they lost 4-0 against both Argentina (ho yeah, we can also call them the team who beat hardly the world champions) and Portugal.
The B team of Argentina lost against Poland and Nigeria.
It's better to lost against them in useless matches and to win the Copa America against Brasil them than to do the opposite.

Actually he's always showed much interest for football, but I don't know if he seriously wants to join an important team like Manchester, but if you think that Gheddafi's son joined Sampdoria in 2005-2006... he can easily join any team lol :P he's a speed-player!
