Babyfoot/ table football/ kicker/ foosball.....

Post by DC.LegenD »

Hey guys,

I was arranging my computer when I've fell on an old presentation I had done for school, which is about "babyfoot". I hope that some of you guys know somethings about it. At first you'll find some explanations and tips about babyfoot and then a small video that presents it.

Enjoy :up:

Hello all, we are going to present to you a presentation which is based on foosball. We made this presentation because we all love this game. Indeed, we play foosball very often. First, we will present the history of foosball, and various skills.

*First of all, what is foosball?

Foosball, also known as table football, generally takes place between two teams of two players, but sometimes one against one. The table is established by a tray representing the soccer field, above the field of play are eight bars upon which are eleven figurines of both teams called players. Each player controls four of the eight bars:

- A bar controlling three scorers (facing the opposite defenders);
- A bar controlling five "midfielders" located in the circles of the field (it faces the opposite midfielders);
- A bar controlling two defenders (it faces the opposite scorers);
- A controlling the goalkeeper.

The invention of foosball has not been exactly determined. It would seem that it was simultaneously invented in France and in Germany between 1880-1890. Certificates were put down from the beginning of the 20th century. Some historians say that foosball was invented by Lucien Rosengart or by the Galician poet Alejandro Finisterre in 1937. However, there are certificates or drawings previous to this date. Currently, the best player in the world is Belgian player FrédéricCollignon, born in 1975. He has been number 1 in the world for several years. Since 1999, he has won almost all major international championships (in singles and in doubles).
There are various types of balls, each have different characteristics.
Balls in cork: This ball is the most frequently used in competition, they stick well to the player, and they offer the largest variety of shots.
The yellow balls: The yellow ball is used in certain bars because they are inexpensive. They are stiffer than the “classic” (ball in cork) and thus allow a bit more powerful as they are slightly heavier.
The white balls: Used mainly south of France. They are the most stiff and dense ball, making them have the most powerful shot.
Plastic balls: Used by the children on the plastic tables, they can be foudn in Switzerland and Canada. Regrettably, theybecomeunplayablebecause of their fragile material.

*Tables

There are various sorts of "gaming tables", each have it's own characteristics, it is for it that the space between the players, their size / proportion, the type(chap) of bar(helm) differs according to the model of used table football. Nevertheless, all these objects, are very intelligently built to offer the maximum of pleasure! All possess their peculiarity as for example the possibility of touching the balh with the head on the stella!

########################

Well, now I will present to you some techniques on how to score. I'll start with the main techniques, some attacking player techniques, followed by some defending player techniques.

The video is based on what I explain now.
########################

The "pissette" is the player on the right of the attackers's control bar. To make a pissette
you have to score with that player. The technique can be forbidden, because there is a dead angle where it is impossible for the defender to stop the ball.

On that video we can see the dead angle, and that the defender is blocked by the wall.

You can also score with the left attacker. This technique is very hard to achieve because the left attacker is the furthest player away from the handle. This makes it almost impossible to aim at the goal. The left attacker is the hardest player to control.

The easiest technique is to score with the middle attacker. The easiest, however this can be very dangerous if it is made too quickly.

To trick or confuse your opponent you can also do a player change. This is where you pretend to play with a player but then you very quickly change and fire with a different player. This requies you to be very quick.
On the slow motion we can see that I play with the pissette, and then change and fire with the middle attacker.

########################
With the defender you can also score. You must fire hard and you have to look for a weakpoint in the opponent's defense.
########################

With the left defender it is as hard as using the left attacker to score. This is because when you fire the ball you need to hit the ball at an angle to hit the goal. Precisely aiming and firing is hard to do at the same time.

The right defender is easier to use because he is less far of the handle. But you are always obleig to fire hardly and look for a fail in the opponent's defense.
On the following extract you will see that just after having spotted the fail, you just have to move and fire.

With the defense you can also trick your opponent with a player change.

There is many other techniques you can do, like for example fire in bands, which means that you fire torward the edge of the table to give to the ball an angle to go to the goal.

To improve, you can try to do the same technique for approximately thirty minutes; always trying to score with that technique. Also, try to control the ball with the players, like on the following extract. Try to be as fast as you can.
