Having recently read that activison's Cod Black ops has just sold over 25 million units 3 million more than the previous record holder Mw2 and has now released its fourth add on to date i ask you the question
ARE WE BEING RIPPED OFF?

yes these are what we like to call... CoD fanboyz.Penguin wrote:Yes, you are.
But people will still buy it anyway because they don't care about not being ripped off.
World of Warcraft (like the game or not) has expansions which are actually worth all the money, at least looking at the amount of content, updates and new stuff. 5€ for the 1st one (even for free if you buy the basic game), 10-15€ fort he 2nd and 20€ for the 3rd. And being released once in 2 years it's more serious than the EA crap with 1 """expansion""" per week or month. Each of them has more content than any CoD + all of its expansions + next 3 CoD games.Penguin wrote:Well I do not class a few maps and an extra gun as an expansion pack.
A real expansion pack would be a fallout 3 one, the GTA IV ones etc.
Penguin wrote:Nah. It's just the principle. How much you are addicted to the game and whether it clouds your sense of 'im being robbed'.
COD games are average at best, definitely a complete rip off to charge for a few maps. How about releasing an editor instead and not raping us dry of every last drop of cash?
Yeah but then you are just repeating the content (playing each map 200 times for example), but if you take a look at WoW, you need several months even to see everything once (and you wont finish everything anyway), due to the updates beside the expanions you can't finish the game anyway. There is just so much content, you can criticize the price you need to pay per month, but even that is less than buying a CoD mappack each month or 2nd month. :)Firetrap900 wrote:but surely it matters how much play you will get out of a expansion like if you buy a cod pack and get 100 hours gameplay out of it then surely the joke is on them
