Beta is an old build and a lot of these bugs have been fixed already for the final game, still way too many bugs though and Battlelog is definately a bug itself

Due to the fact that many of these bugs where already in the alpha this beta is for me just the alpha 1.2
But anyway sometimes when u are in a squad with ur friends and have no retard teammates it's a nice game :D

Using a public beta test is a great way to avoid paying people to test the game.

Well beta versions does not have to include bugs... Or do you think they had a bug free version and said "damn, it's a beta, let's add some bugs to it!". No. Even when it's a beta version they try to make it as good as possible. :)

Though you still have to take into account, games would normally be this bad at this stage, the company would employ a team of dedicated beta testers, instead EA just chose to use the community. I'm sure they will fix all bugs before launch.

It is for users of the end product (us) to test the final products so that it can have its bug fixed before it is released in it's final state.

And actually, COD developers do use beta testing (it's a massive part of the development cycle for any software, lol), they just pay people to do it in-house.
