Another WarZone tournament - Galactic Duel I

Hey guys,

this is WarZone staff giving you some fresh and interesting news for every enthusiastic Star Wars: Republic Commando player out there! We have decided to launch another free for all 1 vs. 1 tournament named Galactic Duel which is starting soon.

This tournament is based on a K.O. system. But there is also a loser-tournament following after the first matches have been played! So it's more than just one match for everyone!

I am not going on with further introduction but just go ahead with the important information and rules.

•When does it start and when does it end?

The tournament is opened and you can sign up now you are allowed to play your matches from Friday the 6th of January Sunday the 1st January. It ends after all matches have been played or being decided by forfeit.

•How can I play my matches?

Once you joined the tournament the system will randomly give your opponent.

•How will a match round look like?

One match includes four rounds with a score limit of 15 frags. Each player chooses one map and will be Republic and Trandoshan. The player with the highest overall score wins.

•Inactivity

Players who have not played their first match within one week until the 13th of January will be kicked out of the tournament and their opponent wins the match without playing. Please contact a WarZone Staff member if your opponent is inactive!

IMPORTANT: PLEASE make sure you have enough time in the next weeks to play your matches! We don't want this tournament being ruined by inactive people....

•Which weapons are not allowed?

-Anti Armor
-Wookie Rocket Launcher
-Concussion Rifle
-Heavy Repeater
-Sonic Detonators
-EC/EMP Detonators

•Are there more important rules?

Actually not but stay fair and friendly! Flaming during a match is not going to be accepted and might result in a kick!

•US vs EU players:

If an EU player has to play vs. an U.S. player there will be one full match on each server. This means eight rounds!

Rule change: If an EU player has to play vs. an U.S. player there will be two matches, including both map choices, on an EU server and two matches on an U.S. server.

•How do I contact my opponent?

Every player that signs up has to add his Xfire username into his profile! This is necessary because everyone has to know how to contact you. Players without a valid Xfire name might be removed from the tournament!

•Do we need to take screenshots?

Yes! You need to take a screenshot to report a match even the player who lost!


•Is there a prize for the winner?

Hell, yes! The winner can be happy about an own SWRC private server with 16 slots for two months! There is also a 16 slots TeamSpeak 3 server included! If a clan with an existing server (hosted by TX) wins, they will get two bonus months!

Good luck with the tournament. I'm heading back to the army the 2nd of January, so I won't participate. Wouldn't have time for 1 match a week. But have fun whoever joins this!

Sorry guys but same as Rory. I am working on MW3 and BF: BC2 and can't be bothered to play RC anytime soon (at least MP). To those who are playing, have fun.

Does it have to be 4 or 8 matches per 1v1? The team you're on hardly matters in 1v1 and doesn't matter at all if the server is set to DM. And if both players want to play on the same map, then it's unnecessary to play there twice if both agree that the result was fair. Thus many 1v1s could be reduced to 1 or 2 rounds with no loss of fairness.

You are suggesting that every match played on that map would have the same result but one match isnt like the other. I can lose to you 15:14 on Engine once but that doesnt mean that I will always lose 15:14 to you on Engine. It´s just a single result and since the player with the highest overall score wins it can make a huge difference if we play again and I lose 15:5...

Edit: not suggesting that I would lose to you at all. I´d pwn your ass.

Yes. Though you don't have to play all the rounds in a row.... you have one full week to pass all needed rounds.
