Joining private IP's

I downloaded the TX mod of Republic Commando a while ago, and have recently started playing again. Its the mod where when I load up RepCom (from the disc), it starts up, then a blue wave comes across my screen saying 'tx-gaming', and then the n-vidia ad and then its all normal.
I have had no trouble joining public servers, and because I've only just started playing again, haven't played in any scrims.
But I was just asked to sub in for one, and couldn't connect to the IP address.
So my question is after all the waffle, why can't my RepCom connect to any IP's?
Is it because of the old mod, should I just re-install my game or what?
Please help as I want to start playing prfessionally again..

As long as you aren't starting the game using the WP6 shortcut it's nothing to do with WP.

It won't hurt anything.

What IP's are you trying to join? Are you sure they are turned on and aren't full?

The most recent was given to me by Matzey cos he wanted me to sub in for a scrim, which meant it should have been on and with space. The address was one that I don't think was in my country, England, it was 84.200.25.122:7581
I have other IP's down on paper but thats the recent one that was open and not full that I couldn't join

That is a german IP that's hosted by us/Vash.

If you add me on xfire we can arrange for you to try on one of our servers.

Your firewall could be a problem if it's blocking outgoing traffic on the needed ports.

Disable your firewall and try again.

Is there any way of joining the IP without disabling my firewall?
just want to know for the obvious reason that well, I have to disable my firewall. :P

Unblock the game in your firewall.... define it as exception.
