Exactly. To be honest I think that if we look at teams, Milan was much better than Juventus this year, but somehow Conte did an excellent work and leaded Juve to the victory. Too bad Fiorentina didn't fight for anything...Nathan wrote:Haven't Juventus done it unbeaten with a game to go?

Germany's extended-squad for Euro 2012:
Goalkeepers:
- Manuel Neuer (FC Bayern München)
- Tim Wiese (SV Werder Bremen/ TSG 1899 Hoffenheim)
- Ron-Robert Zieler (Hannover 96)
- Marc-André ter Stegen (Borussia Mönchengladbach)
Defenders:
- Mats Hummels (Borussia Dortmund)
- Marcel Schmelzer (Borussia Dortmund)
- Holger Badstuber (FC Bayern München)
- Jerôme Boateng (FC Bayern München)
- Phillipp Lahm (c) (FC Bayern München)
- Per Mertesacker (Arsenal FC)
- Benedikt Höwedes (FC Schalke 04)
Midfielders:
- Mesut Özil (Real Madrid)
- Sami Khedira (Real Madrid)
- Toni Kroos (FC Bayern München)
- Thomas Müller (FC Bayern München)
- Bastian Schweinsteiger (FC Bayern München)
- Marco Reus (Borussia Mönchengladbach/ Borussia Dortmund)
- Mario Götze (Borussia Dortmund)
- Ilkay Gündogan (Borussia Dortmund)
- Sven Bender (Borussia Dortmund)
- Lars Bender (Bayer 04 Leverkusen)
- André Schürrle (Bayer 04 Leverkusen)
- Julian Draxler (FC Schalke 04)
- Lukas Podolski (1. FC Köln/ Arsenal FC)
Strikers:
- Miroslav Klose (SS Lazio)
- Mario Gómez (FC Bayern München)
- Cacau (VfB Stuttgart)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Julian Draxler is the biggest surprise, nobody expected him to be in there. Also I'm happy to see both Bedner twins. Otherwise no real surprises to be found.

Re: Football Topic
Reliable sources are saying that Arsenal have completed the signing of marquee player, according to them he will be announced soon after the West Brom game. They are also saying that he would walk into the Man City team.
Confirmed that it isn't Hazard.
Edit: One of the sources has now confirmed that the player is Yann M'Vila.

I just found out that it was Yann, and was going to post, but you beat me to it!Ridley wrote:<3Nathan wrote:Edit: One of the sources has now confirmed that the player is Yann M'Vila.

Glad to see this, he will add to the Gunners strong midfield, and Podolski will destroy with RVP! All they need now is a new Left Back.......
*Points to Aly Cissokho*

Re: Football Topic
That was an article posted in January, was only approached because of injuries to both Gibbs and Andre Santos. Can't see us buying another left back on a permanent deal, Gibbs will become a very good player in my opinion.

Also Aly Cissokoh isn't all that better than Gibbs or Santos.Nathan wrote:That was an article posted in January, was only approached because of injuries to both Gibbs and Andre Santos. Can't see us buying another left back on a permanent deal, Gibbs will become a very good player in my opinion.

And Ridley I disagree, Aly Cissokho is both young and talented, and I believe he is currently one of the best left backs in the world. He still has a long way to go.
(Non-related.Nathan, I see you have an Xbox, interested in a game of FIFA 12? Assuming you have it.)

I think if Gibbs can stay injury free, he will absolutely fantastic. His injuries have just halted his development a bit.Toast wrote:Damn shame.Nathan wrote:That was an article posted in January, was only approached because of injuries to both Gibbs and Andre Santos. (Yeah I'd be interested in playing a game at some point, haven't played in a while though so I'd most likely lose.)

Re: Football Topic
Anybody seen this Paul Pogba business? Wenger has an eye for young talent, and he has proven that many times in the past. Surely if this kid is so damn talented, how come Wenger hasn't gotten involved in the transfer saga?

Don't think he is a player that we have really needed to be honest. Seems like he is off to Juventus anyway, doubt we would have had any chance.

Definitely not.Toast wrote:And Ridley I disagree, Aly Cissokho is both young and talented, and I believe he is currently one of the best left backs in the world. He still has a long way to go.
He showed great promise a couple of seasons ago, wehen Lyon reached the semi finals of the champions league and won the French championship.
The last two seasons, however, this season especially, he's been pretty mediocre and ABSOLUTELY NOT one of the best left backs in the world. Also he'll turn 25 this year, so the talent bonus starts to fade. There are far better options, just think of players like Jordi Alba, David Alaba, Alvaro Pereira, Assou-Ekotto, Dominico Criscito or even Leighton Baines.

Marcelo too.
Cissoko is not really good, he's making a lot of mistakes, he has talent, but he's not really young anymore and he did not show his skills for a long time.

I doubt Leighton Baines will ever leave Everton, which is sad because he is such a great player. David Alaba will not be leaving Bayern for a while, as he is extremely talented ( as he showed against Real Madrid) and they will be desperate to hold on to him. In my opinion he will only be persuaded to leave by money, as he plays enough football, so he must be content with his first team position.
As for Alvaro Pereira, did you see his brilliant goal v FC Porto in the Europa League? :>:>:>:>
Assou-Ekotto is 28, so according to your theory his talent must be gone.
