Why I never understood people saying English is the hardest to learn, just looking at all the different ways to say 'the' in German shows it's not.

Why I never understood people saying English is the hardest to learn, just looking at all the different ways to say 'the' in German shows it's not.

English is the easiest language on Earth to learn... I NEVER studied English (I mean I never paid attention in class and never wrote any homework) and never had any English lessons.. And yet I know it better than Barcode

In my personal experience, studying German, French and Spanish for a very short period of time (except for French), maybe too short to be useful, I learnt Spanish when I lived in America for a year and I found it a lot easier than when I studied German also for a year but in England, but perhaps this was because I was older. I started French a year before German, and decided to drop German and continue French as I found that easier than German, again perhaps due to studying other languages it made it harder for me to adjust to learn a new language. Maybe it's just me, I don't know. So, an order from easiest to hardest would be:
1) Spanish
2) French
3) German
Also spanish is a very phonetic language right? And did I spell phonetic right?

XD English is easy, French just sucks to learn and even though I am dutch, German still is very hard for me.
