NETWORK LAN CONNECTION?!

Hey old buddies,

I'm going to lead a LAN party tonight and still have a network problem. My new laptop and it's Windows 8 bring me into trouble. My brother and I get games via LAN started at our other PC's with Windows 7 or XP, but we unfortunately have no experience and knowledge about Windows 8. We ran several tries, but the Win8 laptop does not find a LAN game.

Can someone help?

Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings

Set network discovery to on.
