It is. Read my whole post. Playing games like Counterstrike 24/7 let them lose the capability to differ between reality and virtuality. The borders get blurred.S.T.O.R.M. wrote:Definately not! No Vash.. sorry but you're absolutely wrong. All these games are not the REASON. They may only me a trigger as I already said.Vash wrote:It is. Read my whole post. Not every guy has the same reaction on them. Everyone is individual and reacts different rather takes it elsewise.S.T.O.R.M. wrote:No Vash.. sorry but you're absolutely wrong. All these games are not the REASON. They may only me a trigger as I already said.
And I'm absolutely sure, that all these guys who were running amok were motivated by games like e.g. Counterstrike. Since they don't see the difference anymore as I've already explained above they think it's as easy as virtual; difficult to explain but I think you guys know what I mean.

Re: Rampage
Vash, you realize that this guy played counterstrike, but NOT 24/7. He had a "Ausbildungsplatzt", and succesfully left his school. Maby playing CS 24/7 is bluring the line, but as i said this guy was no video game addict.Vash wrote:Not every guy has the same reaction on them. And also, do you want to tell us that his social weaknesess, wrong usage of weapons and bullying by other students had NOTHING to do with that incident?
I totaly agree with Storm and Shanks. Video Games arent the lone reason, or the blame, but they were participating in the end result. They war part of the big pool influencing the boy and finaly making him go rampage.

Re: Rampage
Well, i think ppl like him are just kinda retarted. Bad influence from the own family (his dad allowed im to use his weapons), having no friends, etc are the main reasons. When u think ur all alone and no one likes / loves u its frustrating and u may plan evil and retarded things like this rampage... shootergames are just GAMES. and im absolutely sure they do not force anyone to to stuff like this. --> shootergames only've got a bad influence on kids / teens if these ppl have got some huge mental problems. even psychologists figured that out...
me for ex., i enjoy playing those games cuz its just fun. i dont play it cuz i think like: wohohoho, im killing ppl!!!
i play such games when im pissed and have to calm down or on lan parties with friends, just 4 fun. its sad what happened there... the parents should watch out for their kids (ppl on tv said the boy was marked in a bad way etc, that is impossible, otherwise he wouldnt have to such bs). would be gay if merkel or s.o. else would shout out again:
killergames have to be forbidden!
parents, take care of ur kids! lol

Re: Rampage
I kinda disagree with that. Violent Games influence us all, some less and some more. And this guy may got havily influenced by them, due to his other social problems. But as i said, the bale aren't the games alnone, and i doubt that those games will influence on of us so strong that we'd go amokCrankStaxX wrote:shootergames are just GAMES. and im absolutely sure they do not force anyone to to stuff like this. --> shootergames only've got a bad influence on kids / teens if these ppl have got some huge mental problems

I'm not just talking about this guy. My statement is meant in general.Ridley wrote:Vash, you realize that this guy played counterstrike, but NOT 24/7. Did I say that? No. I said it's a big part, neither the biggest nor even the main part.Ridley wrote:And also, do you want to tell us that his social weaknesess, wrong usage of weapons and bullying by other students had NOTHING to do with that incident?
Storm says that those games aren't influencing at all but that's just not true. I've red somewhere that e.g. Need for Speed gamers, who play it very much, are driving way riskier in the reality.Ridley wrote:I totaly agree with Storm and Shanks. Re: Rampage
I had a friend 1-2 years ago who got many "family" problems, he made many depressions and so. He began to play a little on CS, more and more untill he cut classes, lost his friends, etc.
He was totally switched off with his whole real life, he wanted to make a new virtual life to replace his real one...

Re: Rampage
Well i agree there. But i think ppl playing a game so often have to be ill in some way. And yes, an addiction counts as ill^^.Vash wrote:I'm not just talking about this guy. My statement is meant in general.
I also agree. I think the influences can't be denied. If they are good or bad, or both, is another story. Makes me remind of the younger brother of a freind of mine. He played NFS:MW so often ththe once crushed the keyboard when loosing a race. So not only Violent games have those effects (no vash, i know you weren't talking 'bout violent games only. Just general meaned^^)Vash wrote:Storm says that those games aren't influencing at all but that's just not true. Where did I say that? Please read my posts more carefully, Vash. I said: These killergames are not the REASON but eventually the trigger!!!VasH wrote:Storm says that those games aren't influencing at all but that's just not true.
(I hope you know what a trigger is...)

Re: Rampage
guys who do something like that are just naturally weird and then they play kg and then they do something like that. this means just as storm said that these games are the trigger but not the reason why they are doing such a shit

Re: Rampage
I heard about it in the news and it said something like this on his comment on the internet:
"Everyday its the same, they treat me like im nothing" or something like that.
All this could have been avoided by bullying and leaving someone out of the group etc..
But what he did, kill many other people and then kill himself is really dumb and stupid. Doesn't he realize they have family's too? That will be sad about their sons/daughters/something elses death. Yes, videogames are a part of this but i really think its more of the social life, kids could have asked him to come meet with them or something. I really just think he was sick of this life and wanted to get noticed and make other people see his pain.
Im not protecting this guy or anything, what he did was idiotic, if youre suicidal and are thinking of going rampage at your school, or outside. Seek some help, if you wont do that then just dont take anyone else down with you.
(Maybe someone wrote about this like i did, i didnt read all oft he stuff here before).
