For ut3 there are always new mappacks, patches and addond, while Ut04 doesnt get all that.
if you take a look at the community of UT04 then you know that this game got support and there are comming new mods maps etc. As i said this community is very active also in this part. I played both games and i have to say that UT04 is way better in my opinion. And Steel watching a Video and playing the game arent the same. Of course UT04 hasnt got such a good grafic as UT3 but this doesnt mean that it`s less fun to play it. But it means that it would run on every Computer so everyone would be able to play it. Take me as an example i can play UT3 only on the lowest Grafic level etc. and that really sucks...

I gotta do that in RepCom and Cod4 to get a playable game, I don't know if either one would run on my lap...

Ya I know watching vids is not the same. But when I watched(as I said) it looked jsut like HALO1 or something. And HALO1 is in my opinion nothing against UT3. The maps on UT3 awsome! You can get on roofs, everywhere. There are not rly and hints of where you an go. Like in RC. You can walk into a "invisable wall" sometimes. I also like all these Gamemodes(I´m sure they are on UT2004 to but..) there is not only DM TDM and CTF here. I jsut point out some now. DM,TDM,CTF,Greed,Warfare, Veichle Fight(don´t know if i spelled wrong ^^) yea there are many modes.

I also do like UT04 more, but UT3 is the future.

I agree with Vash, UT3 is the future.

@Shanks: Mods and custom maps areN#t developer support, it's community support. And ut3 has all this too. There are constantly new mods n maps comming out.

@Viva: If your PC can handle repcom it can probably handle ut3. It doesn't have that high requirements. I think everyone can get a playable result out of it

@Vash: The Ut3 community is really big already, and it's constantly growing

well i only have UT3 as a cracked version. I used to play it with friends on a Lan-Party. But i will not buy it. I really like UT04 and UT3 is not that good then UT04 is. Who cares about developers support. take a look at RC. this game never had Developers support. The only differenc between RC and UT04 is, that the UT04 community is that big and that good that they do Mods, Maps etc all on their own. They are all the support this game needs. And talking about UT3 as the futur game isnt realistic in my opinion. UT04 is as the name allready says from 2004 and it has nowadays one of the biggest Internet Communitys. So what you guys have to decide is wether you want a good game or a worse game with a better grafic. I would choose the better game... but as i said its your choice.

I can't really confirm that, since both games are really close to each other and almost the same, though UT3 has the newer technology.
Shanks wrote:And talking about UT3 as the futur game isnt realistic in my opinion.
I can't agree with this. Really much games use the Unreal Engine 3, and just in the view of a technician, UT3 is of course the future. The fact that the gameplay is almost the same like UT04, makes UT3 of course the better selection.
Shanks wrote:UT04 is as the name allready says from 2004 and it has nowadays one of the biggest Internet Communitys.
That's actually not true. Source?
It's not small, but like 20 other games have bigger communities. (Besides I think that the community of the old Unreal Tournament is still bigger..)

I repeat it: They're almost the same, since Epic didn't want to change too much so older Unreal players don't need to learn something completely new and at the other side, Epic didn't want to go a risk.

so if its almost the same then y do old unreal player dont really like the new game? they bought it all of course and played it. but if you talk to guys who play unreal every day and also played the old parts then they will tell you that the old UT parts were better. And Vash 20 games who have a bigger community... come on if you take a look at RepCom its maybe in 250th place on this list... btw. where is your source to claim that it hasnt got one of the biggest communitys?

I played UT04 alot in the past, and if in the first view I can say "No, I prefer UT04" but when I've played it for some time I can say "There is no big difference at all, and I could continue with UT3". You get what I'm trying to say?
Shanks wrote:but if you talk to guys who play unreal every day and also played the old parts then they will tell you that the old UT parts were better.
It's always the same idiotic discussion. When UT03/04 were released, all the old UT players didn't like it and continued with the first UT. But after some time "they converted" to the newer parts and sticked to it. The same thing is happening with UT3.

Where the hell did I say anything about RepCom? This game is like the smallest community at all, lol.
Shanks wrote:btw. where is your source to claim that it hasnt got one of the biggest communitys?
I've played it mainly, before I started with RepCom. And I know alot about the community and I've seen bigger ones; way bigger ones....

I used RepCom as a comparisson(vergleich^^)
I played UT04 very much in the past and i play it atm so you can take this as my source as well^^
And yes i know what you are trying to say, but I really prefer UT04. I think they fucked the gameplay up and in my opinion its not fast enough. I dont think that I`ll ever like UT3 as much as i love UT04.

You know what? Your out of luck then! I'm in TS every day and really often on xfire, and alot, i mean ALOT of people are going to buy it, or already bought the game. And you are the only one complaining about it, the only one who wants UT04 so badly.
Most of the TX members want UT3, deal with it!
wie wärs (trommelwirbel) wenn wir beides kaufen und spielen!
The plan is to form a new main div, not to split Tx in a UT04 and Ut3 camp

Well Shanks, fact is that many member of TX already bought UT 3 or going to buy it.

I will do it too on tuesday btw. :D

I mainly want to play UT 3 because it is new, I played UT 2004 for some time - now I want to try out the recent version of Unreal tournament.
