PLEASE DO THIS!! (Brush Alignment)

PLEASE DO THIS!

BRUSH ALIGNMENT:
Okay so lately, some mappers in republic commando have sent me their maps to edit and make them better they have asked, ive always tried but the alignment is horrible. Use grid size 16 or 8 mininum.

Ive always returned the map telling them it wont work or something like that. Since the alignment of brushes is just terrible, absolutely horrible. But lets not get annoyed and think that i am a total dick, because i am not. On this post i am going to tell you what to do. This will;
  • - Make the map easyer for editing later, adding new halls, vents.. etc.
    - Make it look more simple in hammer and less confusing in the 2d views.
    - Cause alot less errors, make the build log run smoothly and errorless from brushes.
    - Make static mesh items in some cases fit better in.
Here i have made an picture out of print screen from hammer that should explain it all:

Everything thats red has horrible alignment, mostly with grid settings at 1 or 2 or 4.
Everything thats green has very good alignment and is better for editing and things i mentioned above.

Also its good to keep the alignment along the dark gray lines, it will help alot, belive me.

This is really important, use the Height, Witdh, Breadth 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024... (Sizes for textures to work, then the textures will align too!)
Also using lenghts like this: 128 + 32(or any other mentioned above) will work.

Lenghts like these: 1, 2 ,4 will also work, but i do not recommend you to do them, it will just cause extra trouble.

It's actually a good point. I always follow the lines while making indoor-maps.

Thanks for this topic.

And if you're going to be stubborn and say it doesnt matter or anything, go ahead, not my problem then.
I was only trying to simplify and help you out. (Not talking to you shanks, but the ones that think it wont make any diffrence).
