

Wow. Just wow.
Coming fresh off the Electronic Arts media briefing I can tell you that Battlefield 3 totally got the upper hand compared to Modern Warfare 3 at this show. The presentation has been perfect. After a brief showcase of the new Frostbite 2 engine's capabilities, the devs directly dived deep into gameplay, kicking it off with a more than amazing multiplayer trailer showing off frenetic actionpacked fights right in the city centre of Paris, complete with streets, rooftops and metro tunnels.
The majority of the time on stage however has been made up of the jawdropping singleplayer demo. Streaming live from a PC we have been treated to a large scale tank battle, complete with awe-inspireing visuals, lifelike audio and an atmosphere that did not feel like a fun actionpacked Hollywood movie, but like a cold and distanced approach that felt like the real thing, while still amaging to get us emotionally attatched through some little nods here and there.
