End War is placed in the near future World War III setting. You play as a Commander in one of three main powers in this war. The people from Tom Clancy is really trying to make you feel like a real Commander. In so doing they added a new voice analysis software inwhich the player can literatly command his troops on the game. In other word you can play this game (not including options) with only your voice.
Online has also been the main focus of the Tom Clancy team. As said in many videos made by them they want to make online one big WWIII war. As in Single player you are a commander fighting for you faction. Online (and ofc SP) you can choose between one of three factions:
United States' Joint Strike Force
European Federation Enforcers Corps
Russian Spetsnaz Guards Brigade
You can choose your favorite, or which ever side pays more. After you've chosen your side you must also choose a battlion each with unique strengths and weaknesses. Than you can fight other commanders and take their territory. You can also fight with commanders from your side. Surviving troops get promoted or upgraded.
This is a land only game with the exception from helicopters. Also each faction has unique 'SuperWeapons' which all can compare to an A-Bomb. Each unit also has their own special ablities that help you fight the opposing side. Rifleman can take over buildings and use them for cover for example, but also are nothing when fight against tanks, and other armored vechicles. There is also no possible way to BUILD buildings and units while fighting so you'll have to keep all your units alive as long as possible. So, like in all army games, you'll have to find out and remember each units strengths and weaknesses and use them to your advantage.
