Zack and Miri are in hurry. Not that they have lots of debts, they also have some very sad love-problems, which they don't realize.

Zack and Miri are living together for ages. They aren't in love or whatever, they are just good friends. Zack works in a coffee shop.
At a class reunion, Miri meets her old love Bobby Long. The flirt fails because Bobby is closely connected with the homosexuall porno-producer Brandon. Bobby and Brandon are having an argument about their mothers. In Zack and Miri's flat share aren't such problems whereas other problems. They have to pay thousands of bills. First the water gets powered off, following by the electricity.
So what to do now ? Exactly this conditions are the trigger for making sex for money. Both of them engage Zack's mate Delaney as the producer. In a casting they find some more actors. As they haven't got a big budget, they cut the porno in the coffee shop with a little camera.
A film as much about friendship as it is about sex, it's like he's teaching the spectators how to grow up gracefully.
Kevin Smith made an icky and secretly conservative sex comedy. I do not recommend it. It is just however a comedian film with just some sex scenes.
