That what the error says when I try transferring stuff to my external hard drive. It'll work for sometime but then that error happens and idk what to do.the request could not be made because of an I/O error

Its like 1-2 years old. It is USB.

Either the controller (what converts your HDD to USB) is damaged or the HDD itself is. There is also the possibility, that the USB controller of your motherboard is damaged.... you should try it on another computer.

It might be cus i dropped it. Ill check it with other USB cables and other computers...
