RepCom: I just want to play...

RepCom: I just want to play...
Hello. New to the online gaming world, here.
I've been playing about a week, and I have a couple of questions...
Question 1: I just want to play, have a good time, improve my skill in the game, etc. What can I expect as far as people using cheats and hacks that enhance their game play? I was on another server last night and some of the admins were playing and spawning weapons... until the server crashed (oops). That just doesn't strike me as a fair playing field if a player can just spawn whatever weapon they want in the midst of game play. What can I expect on the TX servers?
Question 2: I'm trying out a variety of controller options, even using a gamepad in my left hand while using the mouse in my right (I played with the keyboard and mouse, but in the heat of conflict, I can't always get the buttons right). What are some tips or tactics you veteran players use for game controls?
Question 3: Is there a better game profiler than Pinnacle?
Question 4: In reference to question 1, I do want to play for the stated reasons, but I'm intrigued by the team/clan set up... How does a person have the opportunity to get on one of the teams and what do the competitions entail? Obviously my game play needs to improve (I'm not one of you guys that can run around with the sniper attachment and headshot people without even slowing down to aim, lol), but I think I could get better with practice and some tips, etc.
That's it for now... I'm sure I'll have more questions/comments as I continue. I've enjoyed playing on your servers and think the warpack maps are great!
Thanks for everything,
Hammer

Is this serious or should we consider it spam?

Why would this be considered spam? Did I say/do something wrong?

Re: RepCom: I just want to play...
I'm playing on a computer, not a game system... sorry for the confusion. I assumed there were other players out there doing the same. Are there?
Questions simplified...
1. Are people modifying their games and using cheats on your server?
2. Are there any tips you could offer on how to get better at playing this game?
3. Is there a better game controller software other than Pinnacle?
4. What are the clans and how long does it take for a noob to get really good and be recruited for a clan?
I hope that clarifies a bit...

Hammer

No, they usually get kicked if they do so.Hammer7 wrote:1. Are people modifying their games and using cheats on your server?
Play with skilled players in scrimmages and/or other matches, such as CTF. Learn from them. Find someone who could teach you with general knowledge.Hammer7 wrote:2. Are there any tips you could offer on how to get better at playing this game?
Keyboard + Mouse? Seriously, why would people want to play an ego shooter with a game controller? It just sucks.Hammer7 wrote:3. Is there a better game controller software other than Pinnacle?
You're on the forums of one of the greatest clans out there. :-)Hammer7 wrote:4. What are the clans and how long does it take for a noob to get really good and be recruited for a clan?

Good to know. That tells me I have a chance to improve my skills and compete with some of the best.Vash wrote:No, they usually get kicked if they do so.
I had been playing TD just to get used to the game environment. I'll get in some CTF matches and also see if I can find someone who'd be willing to give me some pointers along the way... is there anyone you would recommend?Vash wrote:Play with skilled players in scrimmages and/or other matches, such as CTF. Cool. I had been trying the keyboard, but I was thinking the experienced gamers were probably using controllers... I'll work to get better with the keyboard commands.Vash wrote:Keyboard + Mouse? Seriously, why would people want to play an ego shooter with a game controller? It just sucks.
That's what I was thinking... I'll be hanging around and soaking up all the knowledge/experience I can.Vash wrote:You're on the forums of one of the greatest clans out there. :-)
Vash, I'm sure you are seriously busy, man... but I thank you for taking the time to give me your thoughts.

I'm sorry. Your post is just written in this general non specific form and a saw you had a random number in your name, so i thought maybe this was some bot or something.Hammer7 wrote:Why would this be considered spam? Did I say/do something wrong?

Actually, I'd recommend you to add some of our members via Xfire to ask for matches etc. Just like N'Cide wrote.Hammer7 wrote:I had been playing TD just to get used to the game environment. No definitely not... no shooter (not just RepCom) is being played with a game controller, if you want to play like a "professional".Hammer7 wrote:Cool. You're welcome. :-)Hammer7 wrote:Vash, I'm sure you are seriously busy, man... but I thank you for taking the time to give me your thoughts.

Re: RepCom: I just want to play...
Thank you all so much for the warm welcome and the kind words.
I've played a few CTF games and I seriously dig it... it's cool to have a strategic focus aside from just killing the opposite team. I think I've had the privilege of playing with a few TX members (even getting a couple of kills), and it has been a blast.
I'm still trying to wrap my head around x-fire. I haven't had enough time yet to get familiar with the specifics of its tools, but that just takes time. I think there are some posts already in the forum that might be able to assist me there.
I appreciate your willingness to help out a noob... I'm sure I'll have more questions as I go along.

Hammer
