Rep Com: Keyboard Configurations

Hey Everyone,

I've been playing Republic Commando with the default control settings of w-forward, a-left, d-right, etc., and find myself having a hard time getting my fingers on the right keys in the thick of combat. I noticed that NOSHADE recently posted a few screenshots of his options... and that got me thinking.

So my question is: What are some of your suggestions for the most successful keyboard configuration in gameplay?

I feel like I've definitely improved over the last month or so, but I'm certain there are some adjustments I could make that would be beneficial...

Your thoughts?

Hey man,

As newby as it sounds, I'm playing with the arrows on the right side of the keyboard lol.

Knife = 0 (right squad number)
Jump = Ctrl
Crouch = mouse 3 or 4
Select / take etc = Shift

You have to find you own way to set the things on your keyboard.
I wont be able to play about 3 seconds with DCs settings, crouch on mouse, lmao.

Forward = W
Right = D
Left = A
Backwards = S
Knife = E
Mover Activation ( Lifts, doors etc.) = F
I just change crouch I think
Crouch = C
Jump = space

Try to find ur own style.

That's what I figured. I thought I'd see what some other people use and try a few different configurations. What you had configured seemed appealing because of the uniformity in the key spacing...

Yeah, this is what I play with as well, but what throws me off is the positioning of the keys... in this configuration, I get flustered with hitting the wrong keys because they are slightly offset in their alignment.

Thanks for the input... I'll play around with it a bit and see what I can come up with.

Ich spiele auch auf Standard-Settings. Habe lediglich Ducken und Showstats vertauscht. Alle F-Tasten und Zahlen sind mit Short-Cuts belegt.
