Actually it wasn't. Resident Evil 4, Metroid Prime 1 and 2, Super Smash Bros. Melee and Mario Kart Double Dash are all awesome and fun games. In the cases of Resi 4 and Metroid Prime some of the best games of it's console generation.
Commercially, yes, it was a fail. But it had no lack of quality whatsoever.

when i was 5-7, ive been at my best friends home after school because my parents had to work. he had a super nintendo + racing games + mario world + DONKEY KONG COUNTRY + donkey kong country 2. this games were fuckin ownage. better than ANY other new game. fuck of crysis, bioshock, mw2 n stuff. this games are teeeh shit!

then, my cousin bought a n64. mario64 was new and cool, super smash bros, too. but on gamecube, its def. the best. omfg, i wanna have a super nintendo :(

Well i have the Supernitendo" and all the Mario stuff on it. Old Mario is the HARDEST game! You can't imagine how much hours I spent on it ... And after 15 years I still not finished it.

Then on N64 games were awesome too ... It's sad than GC was not popular, because I got Metroid Prime Echoes 2 and it's a VERY good game, as all the others "Mario" ones.
