I mean, we were able live so many years without shit like this. As Legend would say "this changes the game too much" and this time I agree with him. Why do we need to color the other player's skins? This is so lame.

Also, WHY should be change any texture/static mesh? Because people "lagg"? That's actually the poorest excuse I've ever seen. 99% of the people have a computer which is good enough to play RepCom on highest settings. And those who have an older one, just turn of some graphical features, LIKE PEOPLE DO IN EVERY GAME instead of changing the retail gaming experience.

I have no idea why people even think about using such shit, seriously. I do not need it, TX does not need it. Basta.

We all started RepCom on a gameplay, the gameplay is one of the best thing in Repcom, the things which were bad like graphic or some bugs have been removed or are now better like before. We don't need to change everything, just some things bad, why didn't we stop playing ? Because it's not a bad game, there are no need to "cheat" or to change completely the way of playing, 2-3 weapons more, an advanced graphic, that's it, nothing more. We are not bored of the game then, and it's useless to put the game like a COD with 50 weapons..

It actually lags for pretty much people, more than I expected, e.g. Numb & Pacio are often saying in matches that they lag.

I don't care about it being banned it does give an advantage HOWEVER it's pretty silly of people to rant about things it does not even contain however.

A: it has no wh
B: it adds guns? Since when?

On a better note, i agree that

A: Coloured skins
B: 1 step zoom
C: re-textured statics
D: all guns zooming

is indeed unfair and I agree these parts should be disallowed. Would just be nice if people got the facts right. It's not going to be very nice for the creator of the mod if everyone just says its a wallhack and other random stuff such as adding guns. Pretty much everyone is talking about the WH, which 1 person has, and that person is vastly better skilled at repcom modding than pretty much everyone here.

I actually never said anything about a wallhack. The reasons for banning this mod are pretty much those what Penguin mentioned above.

First of all I'm going to say that I did test this mod out and played with it a bit when it first came out. I only used it for one match though. It was a small intern and Numb and I were on teamspeak (he should be able to confirm it).

I was not going to use it in the future even before it was an official TX rule. What I don't like however is how almost all people who are whining and complaining about it never really tested it out yourself. You're making statements without even truly able to judge how it affects the game.

What I liked about it was how it got rid of all the useless clutter which distracts in game. Things such such as the bad textures, some particle effects and the dead bodies flying around (they are instantly despawned).

The real “advantages” you can get from this client mod is so minuscule and in my opinion not worth all this fuss. Its like saying you can not use a gaming mouse or a better graphics card and monitor, because they give you an advantage to others. Such options like bright skins or getting rid of decals are completely normal in other games, especially competitive games.

Though on the other hand I can understand the people who are against this mod. Why would we need something like this? Its worked fine for all these years. I just think its terrible how ignorant people behave and attack someone else's work before even truly having a look at it.

But ultimately the question remains: How are we able to make sure that people won't use it? This CLIENT mod shows us that lots of things can be done to grant the player the opportunity to gain an advantage. How can we be sure that no one will create something even worse? What we know is that it has changed SWRC forever, since people will now say someone is using some kind of cheat or hack and might even be right.

If someone could invent this one, someone other can invent another one which is even worse. If you could just test WH, means it's possible to have them.

Well you can rest safe in the knowledge very few people have the skills to create a wallhack. It's also extremely difficult to remove the message at the beginning when you join a game, it should be pretty obvious when people use the mod, + you'll see it on screens :)

I agree 100% with what Vash said above. Who would want to change a good game to be that... "n00by"? Not me, TX, or anyone else I know. I also understand where Crimson is coming from about there being good things, but I agree with what he said, and I quote, "The real "advantages" you can get from this client mod is so minuscle and in my opinion not worth all this fuss." I can say I won't download this mod, anytime soon.

@1eShit - I run the game with best graphics (plus Warpack 2-6, and PROMOD 1.1b, c, and light), with other games on the computer (SW: Battlefront 2, SW: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption, with a mod, Halo 1 demo, and Minecraft), and I get NO LAG whatsoever, NO LAG :up: .

I think I have said everything about what I think of this mod.

To the makers of this mod - I think you made something interesting, but not....cool. I respect your efforts and the time you put into this, but I think that any good things get ignored because of all the negtive things in it. I once again say that I respect your efforts in making this mod. - AlphaGhost.

I just had a go with this in unreal ED, I removed all the cheat stuff with a simple bit of editing.

Only these:
playermonitor (monitors for name changes)
hidechat (hides all chat)
id (gives id of players)
whois (gives previous player names based on ID)
anti-cv (now says I'm using LyonView :D)

work now :)

Maybe if Phobos allows, I will polish it up and release the file :)

TAG phobos just made mod for intention of fun im guessing not for subterfuge useage. There will always be the kind of ppl who pervert virtue to cheat its inherent in some.
Anyways Rite on PINGU TX should pride itself on making its own quality products. Examine client mod same as any other rc mod and extricate the features best suited for TX. . anyways adding fov zooms to weps i dont think is cheating i think is great . extra aim damage yeehaaa :lmao:

I don't have the time or patience to take on my own project :p

I just really like some of this mods features, so I spent a little time to fit the mod to TX rules :>

Edit: Actually still got to remove the zoom weapons.
